Wolves 2-1 Chelsea: Nuno’s men cause a massive upset

Wolverhampton Wanderers produced a superb comeback win against Chelsea after going a goal down in the early stages. The Wolves eventually picked up a 2-1 win against Chelsea at the Molineux Stadium after goals from Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota wrapped up the win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Chelsea opened the scoring through Ruben Loftus-Cheek early into the first half after Eden Hazard picked him out in space. The English midfielder took his chance well and slotted home. Wolves then resurrected from the ashes and returned with a goal from Raul Jimenez in the second half after Gibbs-White did well to pick him out.

Diogo Jota then immediately scored a second to hand the Old Gold the lead with Matt Doherty claiming the assist. The Wanderers have been superb under Nuno Espirito Santo this season and continue to defy all odds against the big sides.

Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio did well too, keeping out Willian’s free-kick as Chelsea pushed for a second goal. Ryan Bennett and Wily Boly too did their job splendidly, keeping out Willian and Alvaro Morata.

Youngster Morgan Gibbs-White looked fabulous in his first Premier League start. The 18-year-old shrugged off N’Golo Kante of all peopled before picking out his teammate Jimenez, who finished from an acute angle.

The win also sees the newcomers end a miserly run of six winless games in the league. They are still at 12th place but the three points was much needed to boost their confidence as the hectic schedule continues.

Here’s how the Wolves fans reacted to the stunning win against a strong Chelsea side.
