When Diaby first came to Arsenal football club, he was termed as next “Vieira”. But he failed to live up to the expectation as his career was interrupted with frequent number of injuries. While many Arsenal fans were questioning whether Diaby can be trusted with the enforcer role in Arsenal midfield?, but as Wenger said before, “Arsenal can always surprise you.”
French media praising DiabyAfter a stunning display at Anfield, Abou Diaby produced a solid performance for his national team yesterday. He scored the only goal of the game to give France a crucial victory.
Abou Diaby is now the man of the moment in France with praises pouring from all parts of the world.
L’Equipe described, “First time Diaby showed the talent ascribed to him.”
Le Parisien said, “Diaby showed why he was missed so much.”
RMC, “It’s Abou Diaby, decidedly essential when his body is left in peace.”
Deschamps said, “I do not need to be reassured by him. Diaby is a complete midfielder who can do everything.”
Even Wayne Rooney tweeted last week, “Diaby is a player. Don’t know why he don’t play more.”
Personally I feel he still needs to keep himself fit every game and If he can add a bit of steel to his game play along with that, then Arsenal fans can proudly call him “New Vieira.”
