Once again Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side are being linked with a renowned goalscorer and its Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, the man in the spotlight. A recent headline read as ‘Good source says Arsenal are in for Lewandowski, honestly’, which would give the club’s fans lot of hopes, since the Gunners have been trying to sign big names like Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema. (And the good source is none other than Kike Marin, a renowned journalist who works for El Confidencial and is a very popular figure amongst Arsenal fans)
Though the speculations sound too good to be true, it seems that there might be some truth in them after all.
According to Kike Marin, Arsenal will look to sign the 26-year old Poland international, if they fail to sign French international Benzema from former European champions Real Madrid.
Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the continent and the French manager will look to add him to his current squad, in case a deal for his compatriot does not materialize. Arsenal are looking to add more attacking options to their squad prior to the start of the new season, though the problem would be that the Bundesliga champions will surely be less likely to sell than Real.
With Wenger desperate for another striker, it would be interesting to see how things work out in the upcoming days.
