Excitement builds already…

As all the players enjoy places like Dubai and Miami for their short break, us the spectators and fans just wish June and July away as we feel completely lost without our beloved teams playing week in week out. As teams are just beginning to regroup for the dreaded pre-season fans’ excitement builds and builds as they look to transfer ins and outs then speculate about everything to do with the new season. Being a Leeds United fan myself I know and see loyalty at its best and I know quite a few people who are following the Yorkshire side on their pre-season tour of Slovenia which is just incredible and ridiculous at the same time. As for the new season fixtures being announced I have never seen so much anticipation and excitement just for some fixtures which will become normality and come thick and fast in no time.

All eyes are on where the big teams start and look no further than champions Manchester United. As a completely fresh page is turned onto with David Moyes taking over at the realm he could have been handed an easier start. The red devils travel to Wales to face a fluid playing Swansea side. There has been some weak rumours going around the football sphere about Michael Laudrup leaving however it looks as though he is going to stay. As ever Michael will get his side playing superbly and also with the additions of whomever he brings in.

On the other hand the return of the newly named ‘The Happy One’ sees his first game back at his beloved Stamford Bridge and face newly promoted Hull City. Obviously you would think that it will be pretty straight forward for the Blues however with football who knows. However the fixture that stands adrift from all the rest comes in the second week as Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea travel up north to do battle against Manchester United once again but versus Moyes instead of Ferguson…… a big difference.

How will it all unfold………….

Looking at all the first six fixtures Manchester City certainly have the easiest start of the top teams. They open their campaign to an unsettled Newcastle side at home then play two of the promoted teams. Following this is comes the big Manchester derby so early into the season and Manuel Pellegrini will have to get to grips with the league and rivalry very quickly.

This season is shaping out to be completely different to the previous one as so many clubs have different managers plus so many players have seeked pastures new.

I don’t know how anyone can predict what is going to happen next season……..only time will tell!
