92 % Passing Accuracy, 26 Chances Created – Manchester United’s Man To Solve The Midfield Crisis

Share

If major tabloids are to be believed, Manchester United lead the line to sign one of the most pursued after talents in World Football currently, Bayern Munich’s central midfielder Toni Kroos. The German is yet to agree on a contract extension at the Bavarian club and reports suggest he is looking to pursue his career elsewhere. Kroos would certainly not have a dearth of suitors and potential clubs would pay over the mile to acquire his services. Today we here at Soccersouls provide three reasons on how Kroos will improve Manchester United is a deal certainly materialises come this summer.

Kroos control in the middle of the park:

Make no mistake, the twenty four year old is a sublime passer of the ball and his vision is no less immaculate. The German possesses natural ability to drop deep, barge into attack and the ability to dazzle past defenders with the utmost grace and poise on the ball. He can invigorate the spark for his team required to change a game on its head.

Kroos also has that ability thanks to his attacking forays in the middle of the park and the ability to nick a pass that others would fail to imagine. United have been missing someone in the middle of the pitch, to play alongside Michael Carrick and although, Fellaini has returned to fitness, having a player like Kroos would certainly make a difference. The German play in advanced positions and could excel equally when played at CM. He seems to be the one on everyone’s lips, but why not? The German can improve this Manchester United midfield.

A leader in the middle despite his age:

A huge reason for United’s dismal campaign has been a true leader who would be constantly vocal on the pitch and would egg his players on. Toni kroos no doubt is cast in that mould. The Bayern man is probably the new fan’s favourite at the Allianz Arena and the Bavarian faithful would say he is a leader of men.

Kroos constantly looks to drop deep, build the play from there and also is willing to track back to help and sort out his defence. His work rate is beyond comparison and his passing forays is perhaps the best in Europe. Pep Guardiola would surely try his best to tie him down to a contract but if Ed Woodward pull this off, he along with the likes of Mata and Rooney can help United get back on track next season.

Midfield Engine:

Remember his stunning effort to break the deadlock against Arsenal at the Emirates in the Champions League round of sixteen? No it wasn’t anything special. Those who have been watching Kroos in the Bundesliga or his displays for the German national team would say its his inherent ability to strike the ball with such ferocity and venom. Kroos although doesn’t have the numbers to show when it comes to the goal scoring abilities, but the German is a definite threat, considering his long range efforts alone.

Does this United team have a player aside from Carrick who can be composed on the ball in the heart of the midfield? The likes of Cleverley, Fellaini have been a big let off this season and that is where Kroos comes in. The German has an astounding 92% pass accuracy, a number which none of the United midfielder can come close. Adding to that, he has created 26 chances and 4 assist for the team this season.
