Arsenal have had a poor season to say the least. The Gunners currently lie third in the Premier League table and they could end the campaign as runners-up to Leicester if things go their way on the final day of the season, but overall, the London side have been way below par for a lot of parts of this season.
Arsene Wenger for his part has received a lot of flak ranging for issues from squad selection to not go for the kill in certain games. One of the most glaring issues that Arsenal have had to deal with is a lack of quality around the pitch.
Don’t get us wrong, they have a pretty good first XI but look a little deeper and there are some areas which can be improved upon. Arsene Wenger is rumored to be lining up an 80 million pound bid for three players who could turn around Arsenal’s season and we check out just what these players can offer the Gunners if they do sign next season.
The three players who are linked with a move to the Emirates are Alvaro Morata form Juventus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach. Barring Mkhitaryan, the other two players have been linked with a move to London for a few weeks now and certainly they would add a lot of quality to the Arsenal team.
Morata could be the perfect striker for Arsenal, he might not be the one who scores the most number of goals, but he is someone who moves across the back-line extremely well and his ability to run into spaces and even create them for this mates in the team could be where players such as Alex Iwobi, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez thrive next season.
We all know about Granit Xhaka already and how much steel and bite, he would bring into the Arsenal team, something that they have been missing in the team for years. He and Francis Coquelin could become one of the best midfielder pairings in the Premier League and they would be one of the youngest as well, giving Arsenal a base for a decent side for a number of years.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan could become one of those players who links up extremely well with the rest of the attackers as he has done at Borussia Dortmund. The 27-year-old Armenian might not have had the best season for the Bundesliga side, but he does provide a number of scoring chances for a side and with Arsenal, he could be scoring goals for fun as well.
He has 18 goals and 20 assists to his name this season and he could be a great option for the Gunners. 80 million might not be enough to sing the trio, but Arsene should spend as much money as possible to bag most of them as these kind of signings would certainly make the Gunners title challengers if not winners next season.
