7 Changes To The Squad: Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Line-Up To Face West Ham United In The League Cup

Share

After handing Jose Mourinho and Manchester United their heaviest defeat this season, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have now climbed to the 4th spot in the points table. The manager will be happy seeing his new system bear fruit at the Bridge and will hope to compete for the title with some consistent performances. However, they will now turn their attention towards the League Cup game against London rivals West Ham United at the Olympic stadium on Wednesday. With no European football, Conte is set to take the Cup competitions seriously and here is the predicted lineup that he might field for this game:

Team News:

There were no new injuries for the manager to worry about after the game against Manchester United. Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic will undergo late scans to determine their chances of playing this game while John Obi Mikel and Kurt Zouma are both not expected to be fit enough for this game.

Asmir Begovic:

Having missed out on a starting spot to Courtois in other competitions, Begovic will get his chance to impress in this game against the Hammers.

Cesar Azpilicueta:

The Spaniard has been impressive so far this season and has been one of the most consistent defenders for Chelsea. He should keep his place in the side for this game.

John Terry:

Just coming back from injury, Terry will be raring to take the field and will start this game against West Ham in the League Cup.

Gary Cahill:

A confidence boosting performance at the weekend should give Cahill plenty of self-belief to put in a decent performance against the Hammers this week.

Temitayo Aina:

An impressive performance in the previous outing in the League Cup should give Aina another opportunity, this time as a wing back for Chelsea in this game.

Nemanja Matic:

The Serbian is slowly building up some form this season and he should start in the midfield for his side for this game against the Hammers.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek:

Having put in a decent performance in the previous League Cup encounter, Loftus-Cheek will get his chance to impress once again in this game against West Ham.

Marcos Alonso:

The summer buy for Chelsea has now settled into his role for the club and should start this game at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.

Willian:

The Brazilian played just over 10 minutes of the game against Manchester United and should be in line to start this game against the Hammers.

Oscar:

Missing out on a place in the side recently, Oscar will be back in action this week as he will start this League Cup game on Wednesday.

Michy Batshuayi:

Having freed his legs in the last 10 minutes at the weekend, Batshuayi will be expected to lead the line for his side for this game against the Hammers.
