5 Stars Who Could Be Playing Their Last Season In The Premier League: Featuring Chelsea Legends And Manchester City’s Beast Midfielder

Share

The Premier League is home to some of the biggest stars in the world, but every star has its own time in the limelight and unfortunately, many stars could be leaving at the end of the season or even retiring from the beautiful game.

There are many who could also be playing their last game for the club before moving away to say the MLS, everyone remembers Steve Gerrard and his move away from Liverpool to LA Galaxy and that could happen this season with a few stars as well.

We list out five stars who could be playing their last game in England:

John Terry

Starting with the most obvious, it seems highly unlikely that the Chelsea legend would be getting that contract he so wants and deserves to be completely honest. Terry has given everything to Chelsea and he has been their best defender this season, which says a lot comparing him to younger players such as Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma.

The 35-year-old could probably move to the MLS and that would be a good way to sign off, but it probably did come a bit too early in his career.

Martin Skrtel

The Slovakian is one of the longest serving Liverpool players in the current XI but it surely is time for him to leave the side. He has made numerous mistakes this season and hasn’t been preferred to the likes of Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho.

Even with Sakho’s suspension, it does seem unlikely that Skrtel will remain at the club next season. The defender certainly has had some great times at the club, but it has gone downhill for him in the last two-three years and his last game could be a final in the Europa League.

Yaya Toure

With Pep Guardiola coming into the side, it is all but a guarantee that the 32-year-old will leave Manchester City next season. The former Barcelona midfielder left the Catalan side during Pep’s time at the side and being 32, it could be his last season in the Premier League.

Toure could still do a great job in a slower league like the Serie A or he could do what a lot of players do, move to the US or China. Toure is still a powerhouse, but his time in the Premier League is all but done.

Diego Costa

The former Atletico Madrid star could be another star who plays his game in England. He has struggled this season and has been linked with a move back to Atletico. Costa still has age on his side and his footballing days aren’t done yet, but England does not seem to be the destination for him to end his career.

The Spaniard could move to La Liga or even Serie A and continue his antics next season, but not in the blue of Chelsea.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has not been able to do much this season and could well be one of the players that gets the boot next season at Manchester United. The Glazers wouldn’t mind selling him for a thick wad of cash and the Chinese Super League were interested in picking him up in February.

Rooney might still have something left in the tank, but he cannot play the level he used to a few years ago and it could be time for him to say goodbye to the Premier League.
