5 Signings Which Could Transform This Manchester United Team Into A Jose Mourinho Team

Share

Jose Mourinho signed for Manchester United with a lot of promises to deliver something different than former managers David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. The Portuguese boss claimed that things would be different in his era at Old Trafford. Now, it is time to live up to those expectations. Mourinho has already pointed his fingers at some of the players who he thinks are not good enough to play in his starting eleven and might look to replace them soon.

With a host of talented stars linked with the club, the Red Devils could look to push for quite a few deals this summer, while they will also try to retain some of their stars linked with other clubs.

Here are five players whom the ex Chelsea and Real Madrid manager should sign in order to transform the current United team into a “special team”:

5. John Stones:

A need of the day for United. Chris Smalling has looked really solid at the center of the defensive line and needs a calm and composed partner, who can support him. Though, Daley Blind has looked decent through the course of last season, he has failed to perform in some crucial games. The duo make a good pair, but not good enough for Mourinho’s liking. Stones could leave Everton this summer and United want to sign him, as reports had suggested.

4. Nemanja Matic:

Mourinho not just needs to strengthen the defense, but needs a good defensive midfielder in front of his back-line as well. For this purpose, he could sign Matic. The Serb performed really well under the Portuguese boss in the 2014-15 campaign and was solid as a rock. There were stories some days ago stating that the defensive midfielder was not pleased at Chelsea and could possibly leave, with his former manager looking to reunite with him.

3.  Paul Pogba:

Another player that the former Chelsea boss has been chasing since his time at Stamford Bridge has been the France international, Paul Pogba, who was rumored to be on the verge of an exit from Turin. Pogba is a world-class player and has won many titles with Juventus, though they barely missed out on winning the Champions League. The midfield superstar is now looking for a new challenge and could possibly move this summer, with speculations suggesting that United are looking to sign him.

2. Adam Ounas:

United are already in talks to get a deal done for the young attacking midfielder. The 19 year old starlet is currently with Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux and could make the move to Old Trafford soon, if a deal gets completed. He has been linked with the Red Devils in recent times, with the club are already in talks with him it would seem now. The talented attacker could surely suite Mourinho’s style of play, who will look to add him to his squad.

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

The Sweden international will be an asset to the Red Devils, as he is quite familiar with Mourinho’s style of play and his tactics. He can easily fit into that kind of system and was said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, after he decided to leave Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. It has been all over the news that United want him and could make an offer that he can’t refuse in the upcoming days.
