5 Premier League Players Who Would Make Great Managers

The talk of the management town is related to ex-players becoming managers, this has seen a growth thanks to the success of people such as Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique but for every good ones there always are a few bad ones.

The Premier League does have a lot of players who constantly show leadership quality and with many of their playing careers going into the far end; it could be time for them to think about taking up a management role in the future.

Here is a list of five players who currently play in the Premier League but could well turn into great managers in the future.

  1. Mikel Arteta

The 33-year-old hasn’t played many games for Arsenal this season as he still is recuperating from an injury but the impressive midfielder does have a lot of technical ability and the fact that Arsene made him captain as soon as he signed him from Everton speaks volumes about not only his leadership skills but the kind of position he demands in a team. Arteta could well be one of the few managers to look forward to when his playing career comes to an end.

2. Petr Cech

Petr Cech

The former Chelsea and current Arsenal goalkeeper has all the tools to become a top class manager. He has been under two of the greatest modern day managers in Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho, plus has a lot of leadership skills which would help him certainly when he drops the gloves and takes up the management role.

3. Vincent Kompany

Vincent Kompany

The Manchester City captain is one player who would do well in a management role. He seems to know the game pretty well and even though he has missed a few games this season that would only help him take time off and learn more about management from Pelligrini and the likes.

4. Mile Jedinak

The Crystal Palace star who took the league by storm last season hasn’t really done much this season and is all set to leave the club soon but the Australian captain has the passion and knowledge to do well in the management field. You need a bit of grit to become a manager and Mile has tons of that, which he has shown constantly throughout his great performance for the Eagles.

5. Jordan Henderson

Henderson’s playing time for Liverpool certainly has come down due to a range of injuries and it seems his heel problem is something that he will have to live with for the rest of his career. The Liverpool captain is one of the few players that does have leadership quality in the team and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in a management role for a team soon.
