Burnley FC have been quite impressive under the management of Sean Dyche. Since their promotion to the Premier League last season, the Clarets have produced some really impressive football and even managed to take down some of the biggest clubs in the League last season.
Even this season in the Premier League, Burnley managed to pull off an impressive 3-2 win over Chelsea on the opening day and followed it up with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham last month. The Clarets are now in 7th place on the Premier League table after four games, and are level on points with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, West Brom and newly promoted side Huddersfield.
Keeping their current form in mind, Burnley are certainly heading in the right direction under Sean Dyche and could really use a new signing to make further progress – someone like Nicolas Castillo.
In fact, Burnley really looked like they would get their man in the summer transfer window but, Visa issues stalled the move for the player. However, the Clarets did sign Chris Wood for a club record fee.
However, Chris Wood alone might not be the answer for Sean Dyche this season. Nicolas Castillo offers a little more to the Clarets and the club should do everything in their powers to sign the Chilean international in January.
The Premier League is getting tougher and tougher by the season, with even small clubs bringing in world class talents to help them find success. Burnley cannot afford to sit idle when relegation rivals are signing players that could help them stay alive for one more season in the English top flight.
The relegation battle this season could perhaps be the closest it has ever been in the entire history of the Premier League. With all the promoted clubs this season spending big money to stay afloat, Burnley must bring in the Chilean in order to have any kind of chance to survive relegation.
If the Clarets can continue to perform like they have done so far and also buy Castillo in January, it would not be a surprise if Sean Dyche’s side secure a Europa League spot this season. The increased competition in the League could work to Burnley’s advantage as big clubs are now more vulnerable to drop points against smaller clubs.
The 24-year-old forward has been quite impressive for Pumas UNAM after netting 5 times in 8 league outings for the club so far. The Chilean international also enjoyed a spell at Club Brugge where he scored 10 in 30 appearances.
Maybe, he could take Burnley a notch higher?
