Arsenal have had a brilliant run of results in 2015 and have won their last 8 games, they seem unstoppable and had they had a better start to the season, they could have been in the reckoning to win the league. Planning must take place for next season which only means one thing, players leaving the club and players coming into the club.
Arsenal are known to bring in youngsters from their academy into the team or buy signing young players but recently they have spent big wads of cash in bringing top talent from other clubs, we look at a few players who could be released from the club.
DiabyAbou Diaby
While he might get a contract for a pay as you play, Abou should really be released from the Arsenal team. Sometimes things just don’t click for a player and undoubtedly this is the case for Abou Diaby. It was not like he did not have the talent to play for Arsenal, he was brilliant when he was fit but that has been far too less for Arsenal fans.
Diaby could probably get a role in the Arsenal coaching team and for all the good vibes Arsenal could provide by giving him a contract, he should be released from his contract.
Per Mertesacker
The German has been caught time and again this season in the Premier League for the Gunners, while most people knew about his lack of speed; this season has been more about him making judgmental errors during games which have cost Arsenal dearly.
Arsenal showed that they are willing to sign a player in January and Paulista has looked the part for Arsenal, it could be time to release the German from the club. He might have provided some decent performances this season but he has been caught out quite a few times and such risks cannot be taken during the length of a season.
Wojciech Szczesny
Szczesny has not been the best goalkeeper at the club and did have a falling out with Arsene regarding a couple of indiscretions. He was replaced by Ospina, the Colombian who has taken the opportunity with both hands by putting in some brilliant performances for the Gunners. He has become the number 1 at Arsenal and Szczesny’s future is in doubt at the club.
It is not like the Polish international is not a good goalkeeper but he has had many poor games for the Gunners this season and instead of keeping someone who is unhappy at the club, it should be time to release the player.
Tomas Rosicky
The Czech midfielder might look silky when he plays for the Gunners, but that has been far too less this season. Injuries have wrecked the Czech’s season at the Gunners and at the wrong side of 30 as well, it might be time for the Gunners to let Rosicky leave at the end of this season.
Rosicky probably will not feature as much for Arsenal next season with so many upstarts at the club, especially with Coquelin almost cementing a place in the starting XI. It might be time to call curtains to a player who has been one of the best professionals at the club.
Lukas Podolski
The German is currently on loan at Inter Milan and in all possibility he will not return to the Arsenal team come the end of this season, he did once state when he signed on loan for Inter than he was done with Arsene and Arsenal.
Podolski’s career at Arsenal is not the worst but for some reason things have not clicked for both parties and the best thing to do is replace the ageing German with a younger player, maybe Joel Campbell can get a run out for Arsenal next year.
