North London giants Arsenal have done really well in the Premier League this season so far and are seriously looking to challenge for the title. Arsene Wenger knows that his side need to put in their best performances at the moment though the injury crisis has really pushed the Gunners on the back foot. The Londoners need to recover soon if they hope to win some silverware this season.
One option would be finding suitable players in the January transfer window who can help Wenger strengthen his squad.
Here are three strikers Arsenal can look to sign in the new year to achieve more glory:
3. Gonzalo Higuain:
The Argentine international is still in great form since his departure from Real Madrid and has made 84 appearances for Napoli scoring 49 goals. At the age of 27, he could surely be handy for the Gunners, who are looking to add more fire-power to their front-line.
The north London side were trying to sign Higuain on previous occasions as well though a move never did work out, as he decided to stay in Naples. However, the fact that the Serie A outfit missed out on Champions League football this season could see a move to the Emirates possibly go through soon.
2. Edison Cavani:
The 28-year-old Uruguay international was wanted by Arsenal for quite some time now, as per reports and does not seem content in his current role with the Ligue 1 champions. A move has been on the cards for a while now though a host of Premier League giants were previously looking to sign him.
It would be interesting to see if Wenger is able to bring the former Napoli man to England in the new year, though if a deal does happen, it will surely boost his front-line.
1. Karim Benzema:
This is one transfer saga which has seen its ups and downs for quite some time now. There were speculations that the Premier League giants were desperate to sign the France international in the summer transfer window though a move did not work out as he did not wish to leave the Bernabeu.
However, with his recent off the pitch scandal, the La Liga giants might look to cash in on their star striker and sell him off to the Gunners. The former Lyon man would want to get that cleared and focus on his football, though whether he remains with the Spanish outfit now or not remains to be seen.
