3 Strikers Arsenal Can Look To Sign This Summer, Besides Gonzalo Higuain

Arsene Wenger was criticized heavily by certain sections of the supporters after the Gunners failed to win the Premier League trophy, even though all the other big teams faltered throughout the season. What increased the frustration further was the fact that Wenger was the only manager in the top five leagues in Europe not to sign an outfield player last summer. Alvaro Morata

There are doubts regarding Morata’s future after Real Madrid activated the buyback clause in his contract and resigned him from Juventus. There are rumours suggesting that the Spanish club might look to offload the striker this summer for a healthy profit. The 23-year-old has been excellent over the past two years in Turin and was even the number one choice for his country in the recently concluded European Championship, where he scored 3 goals. He is a perfect striker to lead the line at Arsenal given his pace, strength, and aerial abilities.

Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette has been one of the most in-demand strikers this summer after sensational two seasons with Lyon in Ligue Un. West Ham are also following the striker eagerly and have already had two bids turned down by Lyon this summer. He is physically very strong, with lots of pace to burn. Having scored 20 goals in his last seasons including a terrific return of 27 goals in 33 matches in 2014-2015 indicates how lethal he is in front of the goal. Though still a little unknown on the world stage, a move to the Emirates will be the perfect platform for him to showcase his abilities.

Romelu Lukaku

Although the striker has been linked with a move to his old club Chelsea this summer, it’s not wrong to assume that he would be excellent at leading the line at Arsenal. The Belgian striker scored 25 goals for Everton last term, even though the Toffees struggled hugely last season. Still on 23, Lukaku has hit double figures in each of his last four seasons, while also indicating his desire to compete for the title and play in the Champions League. However, it’s his hefty valuation by Everton that might prove to be a stumbling block.
