3 Reasons Why This Ex-Manchester United Star Is The Right Man For Liverpool

Share

At least the game against Norwich helped Liverpool get their goal difference to a positive, truth be told, any average striker could have scored against the Aston Villa’s defence on Sunday, they were that poor.

Credit must be given to Liverpool; after all you can only beat what is out up in front of you, but Liverpool still need to fix their striker options. The Reds have the likes of Christian Benteke, Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings but only Daniel Sturridge seems to be the final product which Liverpool can use to devastating effect.

The problem lies with the fact that Sturridge isn’t the sturdiest player out there and his injury record is proof that Liverpool do need someone who can bang in the goals when playing alone up top or partnering Sturridge in the future.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are moving fast to get players with the news of Joel Matip also making the move to England from Schalke and it could be time for the German to raid the Bundesliga for another star.

Javier Hernandez might have been sold by Manchester United at the start of the season but he could be in line for a shock return to the Premier League and here are three reasons why he would be perfect for Liverpool.

A clinical finisher

If Chicharito is known for anything it has to be his finishing. Be it headers or close range shots, he is one of the best when playing in the box and that is paying great dividends for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

The 27-year-old Mexican has 18 goals for Leverkusen this season when playing as the central striker and if you put the ball into his feet, he will end up scoring more often than not. Liverpool need another striker who can take the chances provided to them and Hernandez could well be that player.

Has a history of playing in the Premier League

Hernandez made his name in the footballing world thanks to his stint at Manchester United. The Mexican scored 59 times in 157 games for the Red Devils and it was his movement and eye for goal that caught everyone’s eye.

Chicharito managed to score 12 or more goals in each of his first three seasons despite playing off the bench more often than not. Louis van Gaal found him surplus to requirements last season and this season sold him off to Leverkusen, how would he have loved for Hernandez to score the goals for Manchester United.

Can do damage off the bench

Another thing that Hernandez was known for when playing for Manchester United was his ability to turn the game on its head with his performances off the bench. The ‘Super Sub’ as he was known, Chicharito would be a great option to have for Liverpool especially as a plan B.

If he doesn’t start the game, you know he can do something in the dying minutes when his running and movement can cause problems to any defence. Christian Benteke isn’t the greatest option to turn the match around and the Mexican could well be the one who does the damage for Liverpool next season.
