3 Reasons Why Manchester United Should Splash Cash On This £25million Midfield Enforcer

Share

With Manchester United set to appoint Louis Van Gaal as their manager and reports emerging that he will be handed a massive war chest to tempt the players he likes to make Manchester United into a club contending for major trophies again next season, there is every reason for the Manchester United fans to feel optimistic again. It is expected that Louis Van Gaal will make wholesale changes to the current squad and one of his top priorities will be to tempt Kevin Strootman from AS Roma. However the task is tougher than it sounds as Strootman has found a very stable home in Roma but we at Soccersouls take a look into why a move to Manchester United will be a good move for everyone involved. As per latest reports, Red Devils are preparing a 25 million bid for the midfield enforcer.

Kevin Strootman

1. Louis Van Gaal is a big fan: It is no secret that players take a lot of time to adapt to the dutch tactics of Louis Van Gaal. Usually the owner of a club knows that hiring Louis Van Gaal means that a portion of the season will be lost in transition. However that might not be the case with Kevin Stootman as Van Gaal is a huge fan of the player and being Dutch himself should adopt easily to Van Gaal’s tactics. Being an elite player he should not be too troubled to fit into Van Gaal’s tactics.

2. Strootman is one of the elite centre midfielders in the world: Being touted as the long term successor of De Rossi there is simply no doubting the class of Kevin Strootman. While it was apparent that there was a problem in central midfield at Manchester United, buying the Roma star will go a long way to solving that problem. After all Louis Van Gaal once speaking about the Dutch national team said that only three players should consider their place in the World Cup team secure and Kevin Strootman was one of those players. Despite injury robbing him of the chance to fulfill his ambitions of playing at the World Cup, signing him will mean that Manchester United will boast of a true world class midfielder in their ranks and will hope for the trio of Strootman-Rooney-RVP to blossom.

3.Manchester United will get Strootman for the pre-season: While Kevin Strootman being injured before the World Cup was a big blow for the Dutch national team it might be a blessing in disguise for Manchester United if they can agree on a deal with Roma in the next few days. With a proper pre-season under his belt he can turn into the player Manchester United needs in the middle. With the proper rest and pre-season training regime he is just the Daniel De Rossi kind of an influence who along side Mata will pull all the strings in the Manchester United midfield and torment oppositions. While there might be a doubt about other players hitting the ground running under Louis Van Gaal, there is one player who the Manchester United fans can hope to make an immediate impact and that is Kevin Strootman.
