As Antoine Griezmann waits to find out the result of just who is the best player in Europe by UEFA, there seems to be no end to the rumours of him moving away from Atletico Madrid. The French attacker had a pretty good season for the La Liga side last season and more importantly, he almost won Euro 2016 with France.
Come to think of it, Griezmann has had a number of almost moments with the Spanish club and after losing two Champions League finals against Real Madrid, there have been many who have suggested that the French attacker should move to a bigger club or at least one where he has a chance of winning more trophies.
One of the clubs linked with a move for Griezmann has been Arsenal but in reality, the Gunners might have a lot of money to spend but the Atletico Madrid star probably won’t be coming to the London club and here are three reasons why.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title in more than decade and it does not seem like they will win it anytime soon. The Gunners looked certain for a Premier League title last season, at least on paper and when the other clubs were floundering but they failed ultimately and that is something that Griezmann would not like to deal with on a regular basis.
Sure Atletico Madrid have lost two Champions League finals against Real Madrid but the side were poor on both occasions and if Diego Simeone can bring in a few more decent players to the club, they could actually make a proper run for a couple of titles this season and who knows bag them also.
It isn’t just Arsenal who are trying to sign the French attacker, there are much bigger clubs who would be willing to break the bank and sign the 25-year-old who only seems to be getting better with each season passing by.
Barcelona, Juventus and even PSG might be interested in bringing the forward to their club and if one of these teams does decide to break the bank for Griezmann it would be very hard for Arsenal to lure the Player of Euro 2016 to come to the Emirates.
Griezmann does seem to be playing for a manager that he trusts and the French attacker won’t be leaving Diego Simeone after the Argentine hinted that he would be staying at Atletico Madrid at the start of next season.
Had Simeone decided to leave the club in search of better opportunities, you could have made a case that Griezmann would be willing to make a move away from Spain or even to another club in the country but the Frenchman has only gotten better at Atletico after the mentoring and tutoring of Simeone and there is no doubt that Griezmann does see his future at Atletico Madrid at the moment and he would ensure that the Red and White of Atletico is what would be worn next season.
