Leicester City opinion: 3 players the Foxes can target using Maguire money

£90million, that’s how much Leicester City are demanding for Harry Maguire. It’s a fee that would be a sensational profit given that they only brought him in for a mere £12million.

But’s it is the way the club does conduct their business. They’ve done it before with Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and even Danny Drinkwater over the years but at £90 million, Maguire would be a club record sale.

However, with that kind of fee, it does make replacing him easier and at the same time, it allows the club to add a few players. Here are three players that Leicester City can target:

Youri Tielemans

His loan spell has been arguably one of the best loan spells in recent history, with the Belgian flourishing under Brendan Rodger’s tutelage. He finished his season with 3 goals and 5 assists in just 13 Premier League appearances, making a whole host of Premier League clubs jealous.

But now with a £40million fee being quoted, it should make him Leicester City’s top summer target, especially if the club ever wants to fight the big boys. Tielemans is an all-action midfielder who doesn’t just flourish offensively but also defensively.

In his 13 appearances, he averaged 1.3 tackles, 1.2 key passes and a pass accuracy of 85%.

Jarrod Bowen

A Championship superstar, the young forward has done phenomenally well in the second-tier, finishing as one of the season’s top scorers.

Teemu Pukki did dominate the race for the Golden Boot with 29 goals, Bowen, on the other hand, finished with 22 to his name, giving everyone a tough time along the way.

In comparison, only Jamie Vardy finished in double figures for the club and he finished with 18 goals, with James Maddison a far off second place with 7. It shows just why the Foxes need someone like Bowen in their ranks, with his composure and incredible confidence in front of goal.

It’s something that the club have missed this season, and in the 22-year-old, they will get it. Combine that with a £15million fee and it does make him a little expensive but a player that any club would consider.

Calum Chambers

Versatile and once considered to be Arsenal’s future, the 24-year-old has struggled to break into the first-team since then. Originally brought in as a right-back, Chambers has since found a place as a centre-back and even as a defensive midfielder, doing very in the latter for Fulham.

He spent the season on loan with the Cottagers and walked out as one of their best players. It shows the confidence and variety that the Englishman can provide and at the age of 24, Chambers has already amassed just short of 200 appearances.

That alone shows the experience and the confidence that his previous sides had in him, which is why Leicester City should be interested. His versatility will just be an added boost.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
