3 Proper Destinations For Joe Allen If The Liverpool Manager Decides To Sell Him

Share

Jurgen Klopp has had a very positive impact on plyers ever since he took over as Liverpool’s head coach. Players who had almost no role in the team during Rodgers’ time have become the most influential of players under Klopp. Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and even Joe Allen have seen their career charts grow under Klopp.

Joe Allen’s time under Rodgers was the toughest of his career. He was inconisitent, had form issues and did not get proper game time. After a few impressive seasons at Swansea, his development had stalled at Liverpool. But last season, Klopp brought Joe Allen back to life. Since the turn of the year, Allen has been extremely impressive. Over the entire last season, he could only manage 19 appearances in the Premier League but he impressed in almost all pf the matches. Allen has adapted very well to Klopp’s style of play. But his future at Liverpool still remains a doubt with only 12 months left on his contract. He was excellemt for Wales in the EUROs and was included in the team of the tournament. 6 clubs have shown interest in him so far. If Klopp decides to sell him, here are 3 clubs that would be perfect for him.

1.) Swansea City

A reunion with his former club is one of the possiblities for Joe Allen. Swansea City have shown their interest in the 26-year-old Welshman and they were quoted 11 million pounds for Allen. Liverpool are after Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud and if the deal goes through, Allen will have very little game time. Swansea had a bad season as they finished 12th in the league last season. And Joe Allen could help them finish in the top-10 atleast. He will also get sufficient game time at Swansea. So a move to his former club could be possible for him.

2.) Sevilla

Reportedly, the La Liga outfit are interested in adding the Welshman to his squad. Joe Allen’s Euro 2016 displays have caught Sevilla’s eyes. Monchi, Sevilla’s sporting director, confirmed their interest in Joe Allen when he said that Allen fits the club’s profile. Reports state that Liverpool have asked 14 million pounds for Allen. With only one year left on his contract, Sevilla might not pay Liverpool the asked price and will wait till January next season. They might push for a pre-contract agreement and sign him for free at the end of next season.

3.) Southampton

Southampton have also joined the race for Joe Allen. The Saints are reportedly interested in bringing the Welshman to St Mary’s. Liverpool have signed atleast one player from Southampton during the previous two summer transfer windows. This summer too, Liverpool have signed Sadio Mane from Southampton. Southampton do need someone who can replace Sadio Mane and Joe Allen seems a good option. Although their positions are different, a few changes in the formation and Allen will be perfect for Southampton. Also, Southampton’s style of play is a bit similar to Liverpool’s and that will help Allen. So a move to Southampton is also possible.

Allen was impressive for Liverpool during the 2nd half of the season and has become a fan favourite. Most of the fans don’t want Klopp to sell Allen and maybe they are right. For now, only time can tell what future has in store for Allen.
