Three Premier League Managers Who Impressed The Most In Gameweek 8

With gameweek 8 done and dusted, one can fairly make out how things may progress in the future. While some teams celebrated with exuberant joy, others were left frustrated – but one thing is for sure. This Premier League season is certainly shaping up to be an unpredictable one.

Defending champions Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are struggling – a fact that not many may have expected. Both Manchester teams are doing pretty well, while Tottenham Hotspur are managing to keep pace. However, it is the smaller clubs like Burnley, Newcastle United and Watford that are truly making an impact. Having said that, let’s take a look at three of the best managers of the Premier League 2017/18 season so far.

Pep Guardiola – Manchester City

Manchester City and Manchester United might be more or less in similar stance at the top, but Pep Guardiola deserves to be on this list more than Jose Mourinho simply because his team put up more convincing performances when compared to the Red Devils.

City have got to where they are via wins against two of last year’s top four sides with a 5-0 demolition of Liverpool and a 1-0 triumph at Stamford Bridge. As if that was not enough, their recent outing against Stoke City has truly shown why they are one of the most menacing teams this season. Guardiola’s tactics worked splendidly well against Stoke as they beat them 7-2, and it is already hard to think of any team that could possibly challenge them.

Sean Dyche – Burnley

In 2016/17 Burnley took only five points from their 19 away games in the league. They already have seven this time around, including impressive wins at Chelsea and Everton, and draws with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. This itself shows how the manager has improved the side, since they are providing tough competition for the big boys in the league.

Sitting at 7th spot in the table, Burnley are currently tied with Chelsea and Arsenal, who are ahead of them only because of goal difference. Their recent draw against West Ham United only goes on to show how clinical Dyche is with his tactics. He has often been accused of being a long-ball specialist, but the winner against Everton in their last fixture saw almost every player in the team touch the ball. They look organised and well-drilled, and it will be interesting to see how far they go under the manager.

Marco Silva

Marco Silva – Watford

Although Watford have been considerably strong this season, nobody really expected them to defeat Arsenal. And yet, they did and are gracing the fourth spot in the league table right now. Silva has been known for his meticulous attention to detail, and it is clearly making quite a positive impact at Vicarage Road.

Besides a 6-0 defeat against Manchester City, Watford have come out on top in almost all of their games so far, paving way for Silva to become one of the most impressive coaches in the division.
