3 Possible Replacements For This Leaving Arsenal Star

Share

Arsenal are set to lose second choice Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in the summer and as major tabloids suggest the Pole is close to agreeing a pre season contract with German side Schalke, who are reportedly having offered him a three year contract. Fabianski was brought to Arsenal by manager Arsene Wenger from Polish side Legia Warsaw and after failing to having make the grade as the number one choice, Fabianski is on the brink of leaving the Gunners after being six years at the London club. Fabianski has had sparkling performances this season, ones against Liverpool and especially Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League at the Emirates, there are no signs of extending his contract. As the vibrant Pole walks away, we here at Soccersouls provide our readers with three goalkeepers who can challenge and possibly grab the number one slot at the Emirates.

Fabianski

1. Rene Adler

29 year old German Rene Adler currently at Hamburg would be a great choice for Arsene Wenger. Adler had earlier shown interest in Premier League, but a deal hardly materialized saying he rejected a move to Arsenal twice. Having said that, Adler has had relatively less game time at the German side and given his age and experience, he would be a safe spending in the coming summer. He is terrific shot stopper with brilliant reflexes and has the knack of saving penalties. The German comes off his line too often to slot the danger away and would be no doubt a terrific signing for the Gunners.

2. Simone Scuffet

The seventeen year old, despite his age has managed to win plaudits and grab the eyes of onlookers at Italian side Udinese, and may flourish well under the guidance of Arsene Wenger. Scuffet, given his athletic build up is quite tall and is known to make excellent saves and is a tough going past when he is one on one.  Despite Udinese being known as a selling club,  It will be  hard to convince them to sell one of their wonder kids. Having said that though, Wenger knows he is the one for the future and may splash cash on this young keeper.

3. Victor Valdes or bring back Emiliano Viviano

The quality and potential Viviano brings with himself might convince Arsenal to make Viviano their second choice to Szczesny before he makes the grade as the number one. He is currently loaned back to Palermo and Wenger might be impressed with his improvements and developments there to pen a permanent deal for the Italian. Elsewhere, Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is nearing his exit at the Nou camp this summer. The 32-year-old has expected to attract attention from the Premier League as Liverpool and Arsenal look to be the most possible destinations.
