3 possible destinations for this out-of-favour Manchester United star including Tottenham

Anthony Martial missed Manchester United’s final game of the Premier League season against Watford on Sunday, even though manager Jose Mourinho had promised to start the forward after the goalless draw against West Ham on Thursday evening.

However, the United tactician later confirmed that Martial had suffered a knee injury in training on Friday and remains a big doubt for the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

The French winger has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under Mourinho this term. The 22-year-old has been in and out of the side and saw his game time get restricted further following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January.

Martial’s future at Old Trafford certainly looks to be in doubt and should he leave the club this summer, here are three possible destinations for him.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League ever since they appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their manager. Having finished the 2017/18 season placed 3rd, Spurs will be hungry to mount a title challenge next campaign.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino’s attack is very exciting on paper, as he has Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura. However, adding Martial would definitely improve the squad.

Martial would also be able to reduce Kane’s burden as the Frenchman is also capable of leading the line. If Martial is to leave United, Tottenham must break the bank for one of the most highly rated young attackers.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are one of the best teams in Europe but despite that status, some of their top players are clearly getting no younger.

Most notably, Bayern’s wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are out of contract in the summer. In the year 2009, ‘Robbery’ was born and rightly so, as both Robben and Ribery robbed the opponents with devastating pace, skill and finishing.

With the duo nearing its end, a move for Martial makes real sense. The Frenchman, capable of playing anywhere across the attack, would fit into Bayern’s team, filling the gap left by Robben and Ribery.

Paris Saint-Germain

Despite breaking the bank for Brazilian star Neymar, it hasn’t been a highly successful season for Paris Saint-Germain. Many would argue that they have won the Ligue 1 title but after spending sky high to lure superstars, expectations were always high.

With Neymar’s future at the Parc des Princes apparently in doubt after just a season, the French giants must consider a move for Martial this summer.

Given his young age and talent, Martial could be the future of PSG. He certainly would add a lot of firepower to the club’s attack. Also, PSG are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and splashing money on the Manchester United star won’t be a problem for them at all.
