Sport is one of those great features in life which gives you a chance to set things right if they don’t go your way. Much like life, you get those highs and lows, football is no different and some players often reach a point in their career or season where things just don’t go right.

The Premier League might have some of the best players in the world, but even that is no guarantee for everyone to be clicking on all cylinders, with a new season on the horizon, we list three players who have a point to prove this season.

1. Bastian Schweinsteiger

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Well, he might be one of the greatest Germans to grace the game but even legends have certain questions hanging above them. Why would Bayern Munich let go of a player who has given them his all over the seasons? Why would Manchester United sign someone who isn’t the youngest player out there and had an injury plagued season last year? Bastian might be one of the best in the world but last season he wasn’t and he would need to show United fans just what he is capable of and Bayern Munich fans what they would be missing, if he stays fit that is.

2. Angel Di Maria

While Di Maria could be joining PSG, he still is a United player at the moment and if anyone has to prove something next season, it is Di Maria. The Argentine winger was brought in with a lot of fanfare and a ton of money but after a decent start to his Manchester United life, it all went downhill for the former Real Madrid star. It seems Madrid were the winners with the deal since they got a huge amount for a player that was unhappy, but he was unhappy at United as well it seems. Di Maria needs to get back to his Real Madrid ways and show everyone that he still has it.

3. Harry Kane

One of the leading goal scorers from last season, Kane could do no wrong for Tottenham and was one of the bright spots from a rather predictable season. Kane was brought into the team and instantly took away the starting spot of seasoned veteran Roberto Soldado, he harried opponents and was a thorn in almost every team he played against. This season should be the litmus test for the English striker, was he just a flash in the pan or is he really the real deal for Spurs and for England?
