Ed Woodward seems to be providing every player a Manchester United fan desires. They signed Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich and then Morgan Schneiderlin, two players who are the best in their respective positions, or at least one of the best.
They also seem to have kept hold of David de Gea and seem to be on track to make one more big signing in attack, apart from the rather brilliant capture of Memphis Depay. United might have the firepower to sign almost any player in the World but here are 3 players whom they should avoid, at all costs.
1. Sergio Ramos
He seems to be doing what Rooney did a few seasons back to get a better deal at Manchester United. The on-off saga that is Sergio Ramos took another twist as he seems set to sign a new and possibly more lucrative contract, at Real Madrid. Even if this ploy was not his plan, he shouldn’t be signed by United simply because he isn’t the best option out there for the hideous amount of cash the club were about to splurge on him. We have seen United linked with a lot of other top defenders and they would be better options than the Spanish World Cup winner.
2. Pedro
The Barcelona winger might not be the most expensive player available, but he shouldn’t be signed just for the sake of getting a big name into the club. Pedro has not only lost his place in the Barcelona starting line-up but also seems to have lost a bit of ability as well. The World Cup winner might not be the spark that United need, especially if they are going to replace Di Maria. Keeping Di Maria at the club makes more sense than signing the 27-year-old Pedro, who may need another season to get his form and ability back.
3.Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Zlatan is Zlatan and having someone with as big an ego as Zlatan is only going to make things tough, the reason he seems to be number one at PSG is because there aren’t really many disruptive elements there, unless we count Lavezzi. Zlatan has made PSG his home but bringing him to United would cost a lot but more importantly, it could lead to enormous friction between player and manager. Louis van Gaal doesn’t seem like a person who takes things lightly and Zlatan could have a tough time fitting in, oh not to forget a combustible partnership of Rooney and Zlatan may not be the best choice for any club.
