3 Players Who Could Take The Exit Doors At Arsenal This Summer: Including This Liverpool Target

Share

For the past few years, the talk surrounding Arsenal’s transfer activity revolves mainly about the players who are going to come in. However, there is also a group of players who are destined to leave the club after the season finishes and this summer won’t be any different. With another title crumbling quickly, fingers could be pointed towards a host underperforming players who have let the team and fans down. Wenger will be expected to splash the cash during the summer transfer window inorder to strengthen the team further and provide that very important leader that is lacking currently, which would also mean a major shakeup and allowing some players to leave the Emirates.

  1. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Arsenal’s Alex Ox-Chamberlain

Another Southampton prodigy Theo Walcott has finished 10 years at the club, although looking at his stats one can say he has been a major disappointment not only for Arsenal but also for England. Chamberlain is going through a similar phase, where he is brilliant in a couple of matches but isn’t able to contribute consistently for a whole season. After a string of average performances, many fans are wondering whether he is ever going to fulfill the potential they saw in him when he joined the club.

With one or two midfielders expected to come into the squad in the summer, one feels that it is a perfect time for the club to part company with the English winger. Chamberlain might also want to check out other options where he could get more playing time, thus giving him a chance to prove his credentials for the national team. According to the latest reports, Liverpool are really interested in signing the Arsenal Speedster.

2. Mikel Arteta

Arteta is a wonderful passer of the ball and is capable of consistently hitting above 90 in successful pass percentage but unfortunately for the Spanish midfielder, his body seems to be giving up on him currently. He has been in and out of the team, never able to secure a permanent spot in the eleven. One of the reasons for this is the number of injuries he has had in the last two years.

Out of contract in the summer, rumors have already started circulating regarding the eminent departure of Arteta. Though he has done well whenever he has been in the team but even when he is in form, he is hardly a world class anchorman who could drive his team forward nor a deep lying midfielder where he has found himself mostly during his short Arsenal career.

3. Mathieu Debuchy

Debuchy has already been sent on loan to Bordeaux in France after spending a lot of time on the treatment table and the bench. The latter is due to the amazing development of Hector Bellerin, who was given a chance in the team due to Debuchy’s injury in 2014 and hasn’t let his grip loose since then. The 30-year-old right back is still a top player and will have several suitors vying for his services. With a place in the national team also on stake, it is very important for the Frenchman to find a new club, where he could get more playing time.
