3 Players Likely To Leave AC Milan This Season

Share

AC Milan’s current youth policy is slowly but surely proving to be a success this season and going forward Allegri and Berlusconi will only be looking to add youngsters to their armoury which means some of the seniors and deadwood might be allowed to leave or sold like at the starting of this season.

After selling the players like Thiago SIlva and Zlatan Imbrahimovic nobody expected Milan to be where they are now. Milan are sitting in the 3rd place, a point clear of Lazio and 9 points adrift of Juventus and although title aspirations are long gone, they are in with every chances of qualifying for next season’s champions league and as well as going through to the quarter finals of this season’s Champions league. Having already signed  Riccardo Saponara, who will arrive at the San Siro during the summer, the likes of Angelo Ogbonna and Mattia Perin will be Milan’s primary targets.

So who are the likely players who will find the exit doors?

Robinho

Along with Pato, the tricky Brazilian looked almost certain to leave AC Milan during the January transfer window but his wage demands were too much for the Brazilian clubs to cope up with and Robinho ended up staying. He has had his worst season in a Milan kit, scoring only two goals in all competitions and starting less than a dozen matches.

What’s even more puzzling is that Milan kept him after he expressed his desire to leave. The only time he was on the news after the January window was when he was found celebrating Milan’s victory over Barcelona with compatriot Mario Balotelli. He will most likely be the first ‘big’ name sold in the summer.

Bojan Krkic

Bojan who joined AC Milan at the start of the current campaign from Roma is still under the ownership of his previous employer Barcelona and Milan have an option buy him permanently at the end of this season. The rumoured fee for his signature was branded around  €15m at the start of the season, but however the Spanish youngster has not done enough to justify his price tag.

He has scored just three goals in 18 League games this term and also have failed to scored in five Champions League ties. Milan are supposedly trying to lower his price tag and if the negotiations with Barcelona break down, Bojan could also find the San Siro exit doors. Bojan’s first team chances have also been affected due to rise of 18-year old youngster M’Baye Niang and Milan cheif Galliani admitted that Bojan was most effective coming off the bench.

Abate

Ignazio Abate

Nearly joining Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg in the January transfer window, the blonde lightning bolt was kept by Allegri for depths. Despite being a serviceable right back, he never really developed into the player that Milan had hoped he would become. Abate’s inconsistent crossing and occasional defensive lapses means Milan will think long and hard about an offer coming his way in the summer.

And  the development of youngster Mattia De Sciglio has been seriously hampered by Abate as Sciglio has been deployed on the left to accommodate Abate.
