3 Players Who Could Follow Schneiderlin Out Of Manchester United In January

Share

Three back to back victories in the Premier League have lifted Manchester United close to the top 4 places and Jose Mourinho will hope that his team can keep up the good work throughout the rest of the season. The manager will surely be busy in the January transfer window as he looks to add a few players to his squad to maintain the intensity and this might see a few players leave the club in January. French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been frozen out of the first team at the club, is extensively linked with an exit with West Brom and Everton looking his likely destinations but he is not the only player who might leave the club this transfer window. Here are three other players that Jose Mourinho might get rid of in January:

3. Memphis Depay:

The Dutch international made a high-profile move to Old Trafford after being named the player of the year in his country. He made a sizzling start to his career in England and he was expected to take Manchester Untied to glory. However, even after being given a number of chances by Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, he has failed to live up to the expectation and has been linked with a January exit. Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his signature and Manchester United are almost certain to sell.

2. Bastian Schweinsteiger:

The legendary German midfielder is one of the most decorated players in the game but Jose Mourinho, the new manager at Manchester United has decided to completely freeze him out of the first team and has not really given him a chance to even prove himself. The Portuguese manager does not see the 32-year old helping the side in the midfield anymore and is sure to let him go in January. He was linked with an exit even in the summer but there were not many clubs ready to meet his wages. However, with his career at stake, Schweinsteiger might be ready to lower his demands and there will not be shortage of clubs who would want to buy him. Surely, he will not stay a Red Devil for too long.

3. Sam Johnstone:

The 23-year old English keeper is the 3rd choice shot stopper for Mourinho behind De Gea and Romero this season and has just one appearance to his name so far this campaign. He is potentially a world class keeper who has all attributes that can make him a hit in the Premier League and Manchester United would love for him to get some game time under his belt. Aston Villa are reportedly close to landing their man in January but Mark Hughes’ Stoke City are also interested in his signature and are likely to try and keep him in the Premier League. Rest assured, Johnstone will not stay at Old Trafford for the rest of the season.
