3 Players Arsenal Should Bring Back To Emirates Including Cesc Fabregas

Share

As a few Arsenal graduates have moved on to find success elsewhere, Arsene Wenger may want to bring a few back in January.

3. Carlos Vela

One of the most frustrating players in the world in his time with the Gunners, Carlos Vela has gone on to be one of La Liga’s better attackers at Real Sociedad. He did showcase his talent at the Emirates on a few occasions, but it wasn’t enough, and he lacked the consistency to get a decent run of games, but a move to Sociedad solved that problem. His ability to read the game and make intelligent runs has made him into a better striker, while his electric pace has let him become a success on the wing as well. With Arsenal currently lacking depth up front and on the wings, Vela could be the perfect recruit for Wenger, while his previous time in North London means he knows the style of Arsenal and of the Premier League, so the transition should be seamless.

2. Alex Song

With talks of a move for Youssuf Mulumbu gathering pace, it is no doubt that they are targeting the former Paris Saint Germain man to replace the man they should sign after selling him to Barcelona 2 years ago. Song has since struggled in Catalunya, and with the Blaugrana seeking a centre-back and a striker in January, he could be sacrificed to raise the funds Gerardo Martino needs. Should he be placed on the transfer list, Arsenal should be the first team to respond. After spending 7 successful years at the Emirates, Song will most likely want to return to the club where he made his name, and Arsenal should take him back as they still miss his assurance and dynamism in midfield. There is a chance he will be available for a price-cut with performance add-ons, meaning there is another reason the Arsenal boss should make a move, as we all know he loves a bargain.

1. Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas

Arguably the best player to ever come through the Arsenal youth scouting system, Cesc Fabregas was the best midfielder in the Premier League by a country mile. His passing exquisite, his movements intelligent and his assist tally off the chart, Mikel Arteta was never going to be enough of a replacement for the Barcelona man. Arsenal have first refusal on the Spain international, and as Barcelona still haven’t fully paid off his large transfer fee, there will also be money off. Not since the rise of Aaron Ramsey and the signings of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil has the midfield been as stable as when it was Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri pulling the strings at the Emirates, which shows just how much the World Cup winner meant to Arsenal and their fans. The one most would like to see don the Arsenal strip once again, would also be the hardest transfer to pull off sadly.
