3 Players Arsenal Need To Sign This Summer But Probably Won’t Be Signing

Share

Arsene Wenger’s side are in need of signing more quality stars this summer, after ending yet another trophyless campaign previously. Arsenal lost out on the Premier League title last term, as Leicester City were surprisingly crowned the champions of England, with the Gunners finishing second above fierce rivals Tottenham. It was a chance to win the league for the French manager’s team, who messed things up and Wenger now knows that his team is in need of more quality reinforcements.

A lot of big money players have been linked with a move to the Emirates, though a deal has not been completed for them so far and if Wenger wants to avoid last summer’s fate, he will have to move quickly, this time around.

Keeping that in mind, here are three players that the English giants need to sign, but probably won’t be signing anyways:

3. Alexandre Lacazette(Lyon):

There is no doubt that the Londoners are in need of more options up front, as Wenger looks to sign yet another striker who can partner Olivier Giroud up front. The France international tried his best to push his side through, though a goal drought at the wrong time last term, cost the club the league title. The Gunners were in the chase to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, though it was stated recently that the Arsenal boss was not keen on paying a fee of more than £40m for his target, with the Ligue 1 giants looking to cash in on their priced possession.

2. Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich):

The German World Cup winner was deemed surplus to the needs at the Allianz Arena, with manager Carlo Ancelotti taking charge of the Bundesliga champions, prior to the start of the new season. The 24-year-old midfielder was not properly utilized during Pep Guardiola’s reign as well and it seems the time is right for a move, though Gotze himself is determined to stay and fight for a place in the starting eleven. The attacker would prefer joining Arsenal over some of their rivals, as per recent claims, though Wenger’s policies might eventually not let a deal go through for his target, who was also heavily linked with Liverpool previously.

1. Gonzalo Higuain(Napoli):

The third and final player is Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, who has shown his worth in Serie A, since his departure from the Bernabeu back in 2013 when he moved to Naples leaving Real Madrid. The 28-year-old striker has proven his worth once again last term and will be a huge asset to the Gunners if Wenger would sign him. His form for his country has not been the best in recent times, though he would surely be a handy addition for the English outfit. However, it was confirmed recently that Wenger might have already given up in his chase to sign the player, which won’t be something new for the fans now.
