3 Players Arsenal Could End Up Signing In January

Share

With Arsenal completing the move for Gabriel Paulista from Villareal and getting clearance from the customs office, it seems that Arsene finally has the cover that Arsenal so needed for their centre backs. More importantly for Arsenal fans, this shows that Arsene is willing to spend money in the transfer window in January and did strengthen a position which was often considered to be a bit of a problematic area for Arsenal.

With one position done and dusted, Arsene might want to close out any other niggling problems with the squad in this transfer window and we try to shed light on 3 players who could join Arsenal in January, of course this is all speculation and all 3 could end up at Arsenal before January or just 1.

Morgan Schneiderlin

The long protracted saga that is Schneiderlin and Southampton seems to be going on for quite a while, Arsenal were close to signing the Frenchman but could not complete the deal in the earlier transfer window but they could be on the mark to sign the highly rated midfielder if they pay the right amount.

Since Southampton’s promotion to the Premier League Morgan Schneiderlin has made 236 successful tackles, more than any player in that time. Schneiderlin will be a perfect fit at Arsenal midfield but the Saints may try to do their best to keep their main man with them at-least till Summer.

Cheick Tiote

Tiote

A much cheaper option compared to Schneiderlin is Newcastle’s Cheick Tiote. The defensive midfielder who has often impressed when playing for Newcastle would make an excellent signing for the Gunners.

He is known for being a feisty tackler and has been in the English game for quite a while, he would provide Arsenal’s defenders and midfield that extra bite that has been missing for quite a while from the team. Rumours have started going about that if Arsenal do not complete the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin, their next target to fix their midfield is Cheick Tiote and he would be more than happy to move to The Emirates.

Mattia Destro

The need for a new striker to provide cover to Giroud and Welbeck has become even more important now with the likes of Campbell and Sanogo out on loan, plus Podolski has also gone and bring in Destro might be a bit of a gamble for Arsene but at least he would come cheap.

The striker would fit into the Arsenal forward line up well, he is quick and has good dribbling skills even though his finishing has been a bit hit or miss, either way getting Destro for this low a sum can be taken up by Arsene and Arsenal as they try to push on and ensure a top 4 finish at least. Unfortunately for the gunners, the latest reports suggest that Milan are the leading the race to sign the Italian forward.
