3 Manchester United Players Who Could Break Into The First Team Next Season

Share

If anyone wants to remember or have an idea about what a youth system can actually do, they should look no further than Manchester United’s class of 92. A batch of players who were so brilliant that they dominated the English game and they all came through the youth system, Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Butt and the Neville brothers.

No team has been able to create or provide such talent ever for a long time, even Manchester United have struggled to provide the youngsters of the calibre of the class of 92 but as with every club they do have a lot of youngsters out on loan and coming through their youth system. We look at 3 players who could make it into the Manchester United team next season.

1. Jesse Lingard

Lingard is considered as one of the best English prospects and has been on loan at Derby County. He has been partly responsible for his team’s run in the Championship where they could end up in the running for a place in the Premier League as they are in the playoff position. Lingard is an England U21 international and plays in an attacking midfielder’s role. He could have an immense role to play for Manchester United next season as he could free Rooney up to play in a striker role while he could control the tempo of play for Manchester United.

2. Saido Janko

The Swiss U19 international was signed recently by United and then loaned to Bolton Wanderers in 2015. The 19-year-old can play anywhere on the right side of the team but is most comfortable playing as a right back. Janko does have really good pace and has strength to survive in the Premier League, he could be playing a bigger role next season as the likes of Rafael or Valencia could have their game time scuppered by the youngster.

3. Will Keane

The English U21 striker has been a bit of a journey man and has been on loan for quite a few seasons. He has been on loan at Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday and even QPR at varying times in his career, however, he is tipped to do great things and at only 22-years-old, he still has time to develop. While Robin Van Persie and Falcao might be holding down a couple of positions at United, we have seen Louis Van Gaal provide chances to youngsters and maybe next season is the start of the rise of Will Keane.
