3 Great Partnerships That Has Helped Thier Teams This Season Featuring Tottenham And Leicester Stars

Share

The days of the lethal striker pair or partnership is history! Well, almost, gone are the days when two strikers would line up and try to run amok by scoring goals left right and centre. The likes of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole or Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton are just a distant memory for Premier League followers.

These days it is more about having just one striker and having support from the players behind the main man. Well, it certainly is working but not to the levels of a certain Barcelona or Real Madrid. The Premier League is one of the toughest competitions in the world but there still are a few tag-teams who are getting the deal done at the right end of the pitch.

Let us have a look at three pairings who have been on fire this season.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli

The English duo who are almost on the verge of making history with Tottenham. Dele Alli and Harry Kane might not be everyone’s first choice at the start of the season for an incredible pairing but the duo has been brilliant for the London side.

Alli has scored seven times in the league this season while Harry Kane has banged in 21 league goals and could well score a few more come the end of the season. Tottenham must be really impressed by the growth displayed by Alli but they will be banking on the form and ability of Kane to make it to the top of the league, that is if Leicester trip up somehow.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez

The star pair of the season, while Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been brilliant for Mauricio Pochettino, the pair of Vardy and Mahrez are surely going to lead Leicester to the title, if not the Champions League at least.

Both players weren’t supposed to do all that they have achieved under Claudio Ranieri but the 35 goals between them in the league campaign is surely incredible. Pace and endless running from Jamie Vardy and the trickery and skill of Riyad Mahrez surely is going to make their fairy-tale come true, surely.

Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney

No one and we mean no one would have predicted Watford to have done all that they have achieved this season. They are still in the FA Cup and are doing pretty well in the league under new manager Quique Sanchez Flores.

The hard work might be done all over the pitch but the strike pairing of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo is a throwback to the days when two players at the top of the field were duking it out against the defenders. The pair have 25 goals between them in the league and are surely the reason why they could end up being in the FA Cup final if things go their way.
