Manchester United has been one of the most goal shy clubs this season. With star such as Wayne Rooney the only experienced striker in the rank and constantly out of form, it is not a surprise that the major goal scoring burden has come upon the shoulders of young Anthony Martial.
Louis Van Gaal knows that it is too much to expect from the young striker’s first season at United and is currently said to be looking for an experienced striker to add firepower to the docile United side. Romelu Lukaku seems like the most probable option currently and with the young Belgian having considerable experience in the league is definitely a good buy. The price to be paid however may be massive considering he just joined Everton last season for £28m from Chelsea.
Manchester United has been consistently the most boring side this season in Champions League and their new signing from the other leagues have not helped their cause. An experienced Premier League striker may seem like a good option but with the current possession based style adapted under LVG, nothing is guaranteed.
