According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport’s Tuesday edition, it seems that Premier League giants Manchester United and Felipe Anderson were the favourite subject once again. The 22-year-old Brazilian attacker has a total of 4 goals over 8 days and once again now his name has been linked with the Red Devils.
There were often stories of Louis van Gaal’s side keen on signing the Brazilian international during the summer transfer window, which could be traced back to Italy.
The youngster is a high-quality player and would have made a great addition to the Dutchman’s side if a deal had gone through.
Further, the report added that prior to signing Anthony Martial from AS Monaco, the Manchester based side had made a €40m/£28m bid to Lazio for Anderson.
Also, the player apparently remained with the Serie A side refusing personal terms of £3.2m a year, after tax, which would turn out to be over £60k per week.
Well, a deal did not go through and eventually Van Gaal’s side signed the 19-year-old France international instead.
