£26.5m Chelsea Target Responds To Interest From Premier League Giants

Chelsea have been interested in signing Sevilla defender Steven N’Zonzi, as they prepare to strengthen their defence after a disappointing summer transfer window. The Blues’ manager Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his midfield, with John Obi MIkel’s contract set to expire at the end of the season and Fabregas, who is struggling to make an impact under the new manager, has found himself mostly on the bench this year.  However, the French midfielder, although happy with Blues’ interest, plans to stay at Sevilla for a long time.

“It’s nice, it’s good. But I always say that this type of club is interested in other players too.

“I am not the only one. I know that big clubs are interested in many players. I focus on what I do at Sevilla. Until there is something concrete, we must remain professional.

“Some clubs were interested [in the close-season], but I feel good at Sevilla. I enjoy the game, the football, I like the way Sevilla play, I feel good in the city, with the fans and the club and I’m enjoying myself.”- N’Zonzi

N’Zonzi has settled well at Sevilla, the club he joined in June 2015. He is in contract with Sevilla till 2019, which also includes a buyout clause worth £26.5m, reports Mundo Deportivo. The player has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, in addition to the speculation regarding a return to the Premier League.

Having settled well at the French side along with an important role to play under Jorge Sampaoli at Sevilla, a move out of the club does not seem to have crossed his mind.
