Pogba moved from Manchester United to Juventus only in 2012. Even after performing well for the Old Lady, Italian media constantly link him with a move away from the Turin club. Pogba is a tall and physically strong midfielder with good dribbling and ball control skills. Even though his natural position is as a defensive midfielder, the versatile youngster can play also as an attacking midfielder if needed. He is already touted by the media as the “next Yaya Toure”.
Now adding more fuel to the rumors, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli hinted that they may sell the midfield enforcer if a big offer comes in their way.
Agnelli said in press a conference (source Guardian),
“If I was to judge it from a footballers’ point of view, Italy is no longer the final destination but a transit destination.”
“I am trying to think what will be of us in two or three years’ time if we get a massive offer for one of the best talents we have today, Pogba, the French 20-year-old.”
“Would we be able to retain him? I don’t know. I don’t think at the moment we have the strength to retain such a player.”
“Look at what happened to Milan. They had to give away Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to pay the cheques.”
“At the end of the day you can be attractive, but you also need to have the economic strength.”
Manchester City are also interested in signing Pogba and a bidding war is expected to start in January.
