Two Quality Replacements For Bruno Alves Who Rangers Can Target

When Bruno Alves signed for Rangers in May 2017 at the age of 35, the Rangers fans knew that although he would bring experience to the side. He was very much a short-term solution to their centre-back issues and that has proved to be the case as he has found himself replaced by Ross McCrorie and David Bates in recent weeks.

Alves is an experienced pro and he knows that his time is close to being up, especially with him struggling due to hamstring problems.

With Sporting Director Mark Allen reportedly making a statement of intent in trying to bring in Scott Arfield, he must look to act in a similar way to strengthen the central defensive area but who can he go for?

Reece Burke

The West Ham defender currently on loan at Bolton has done well over the last few seasons but has yet to show that he is ready to step up to Premier League level.

A move to the SPL  could exactly be what the young man might need in order to take his development to the next level. The 21-year-old is a classy defender who would bring a good level of defensive concentration to a team that has been found out in the big games on a few occasions this season.

Sol Bamba

If Cardiff make it to the Premier League, then Neil Warnock must strengthen his team defensively to take on the challenge of competing against the best players in the world.

With this in mind, it would be better if he let Sol Bamba make the move north of the border to make room for a more reliable target.

For Rangers fans, this would feel a lot like signing someone very similar to Bruno Alves, however, Bamba has proven himself to be an excellent player over this season and he would be confident of making an impact in the SPL.
