2 Possible Summer Swap Deals – Arsenal, Chelsea, Schalke All Involved

Possible Swap deals in the summer

2. Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois

The young Chelsea goal keeper and the prolific Atletico Madrid centre forward might exchange clubs in case the Spanish side force Mourinho into the inclusion of Courtois plus the transfer fee in the deal.

This has been a very strong rumour for a long time and we can be expecting such a switch especially as Courtois has not yet decided his long term future and wants to be the first choice at Chelsea. Courtois and Costa, both have been instrumental in Atletico Madrid’s success story this season as Messi, arguably the world’s best, is yet to score against the Belgian shot stopper. Same has been the case with Costa, who is competing with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo in the goals scored department.
Despite that, the possibility of this deal happening is less as Mourinho has already said that he wishes to have two quality keepers fight for their position in Chelsea.

1. Lucas Podolski and Julian Draxler

Podolski is back

Arsenal have been after the young German and might look to swap one German for another in order to strengthen their team. Podolski has not been an assured starter for Arsenal despite being a very talented winger. Draxler can prove more important to Arsenal as he is a midfield oriented player and Arsenal would like to create more for a new centre forward whom they are likely to sign.

Podolski on the other hand won’t have much to settle in. Schalke is a great club and him being German would be an added advantage. The rumours were going around for some time before Podolski rubbished it. But there are still possibilities of a swap move if Arsenal want to save some money.
