Two Players Who Could Be Sold By Newcastle United In The Summer

With English football’s huge money coming into the game from TV companies and then swiftly disappearing again into the pockets of owners, agents and clubs even at the top level need to wheel and deal to be able to buy the players they want.

Bringing players in almost always has to be preceded by chucking players out and nowhere will that be a more prevalent tactic in the summer than at Newcastle.

Funds will need to be generated by Rafa in order to bring new people in and here are two prime candidates for the market stalls:

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Mitro has a sort of ‘loose cannon’ mentality and many fans love that, however, it has done him no favours on the pitch during his time in England and I only wish more Newcastle fans would see that his so-called ‘passion’ has cost him goals and his team points over the years.

An obvious sign of where he is at is that despite his availability being made public in January, only Middlesbrough, Fulham and Anderlecht were serious about signing him.

No Premier League or La Liga clubs made genuine approaches which tells you something about his overall ability right now. Despite this, Mitro does have a transfer value somewhere over the £10million mark which makes the obvious candidate to be sold given that Rafa will be desperate for funds.

Rolando Aarons

Rolando has plenty of talent but has been an injury case for the entirety of his first-team career on Tyneside and despite his obvious skills; he hasn’t produced anywhere near enough for a manager of Rafa’s quality to want to keep him.

Whenever a player goes out on loan like Aarons has at Verona, fans often think that the game time there will lead to him being a first-team player at the parent club come the summer. However, the brutal fact is that if it was felt he’d be good enough by then he wouldn’t have been allowed to leave in the first place.

He is 22 now which means he can still improve but we already have a broad idea of where he sits in the game and that position is not at a sufficient level for Rafa to want to avail him of a place in Newcastle’s 25-man Premier League squad next season.
