Two players Chelsea could loan out before the transfer deadline

New manager Maurizio Sarri has enriched his squad with new signings in the form of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, and Kepa Arrizabalaga and it is time for the Blues to offload some of their fringe players.

Chelsea have made a solid start to the season under new manager Maurizio Sarri with three consecutive wins in the Premier League.

It is a promising situation for the new manager with all his new signings coming good early in the season. However, he has a squad full of players to manage and Chelsea have a squad with plenty of youngsters who are not likely to get first-team action.

Here are two players who Sarri can choose to offload.

Tammy Abraham

The 20-year-old forward has been termed as a future prospect for the Blues but he has failed to mount a serious challenge for a first-team place. Abraham made his senior team debut in 2016 under Guus Hiddink but did not get substantial opportunities to prove himself.

He had loan spells in the Championship with Bristol City and Swansea City, the former of which was very fruitful for the youngster as he went on to become one of the top scorers in the Championship with 23 goals in the 2016/17 season. However, he did not hit the same kind of form in his subsequent loan spell at Swansea, where he scored only 9 goals.

With Alvaro Morata starting to find his feet after scoring against Arsenal and Olivier Giroud in the ranks as well, it would be hard for Abraham to make a breakthrough into the first-team.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham has emerged as a prolific scorer for England at youth levels and also made his senior team debut for the Three Lions last year.

The promising youngster has shown good maturity and excels in a number of positions in the attacking third. He can play as a supporting striker due to his ability to find his teammates with accurate through balls and on the other hand, he has admirable composure and solid physicality to spearhead the attack.

Another loan spell at a Championship club would help the youngster to work on his flaws and rise up the ladder. If he manages to string together some impressive performances on a loan spell, a recall to Chelsea’s first-team is a strong possibility next season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Another product of Chelsea’s youth academy, the 17-year-old has already made his debut for Chelsea’s first-team, having played in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Community Shield this season.

Hudson-Odoi can play on either wing. He was impressive in Chelsea’s pre-season tour where he showed electric pace and energy down the wings. With his flair and athleticism, the youngster has drawn Maurizio Sarri’s attention.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Hudson-Odoi was an influential figure in England’s 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup campaign and has been a regular for England at the youth level.

While training with the top players in the senior squad is sure to help the youngster build his game, he needs regular minutes under his belt to work on his flaws.

A loan move to a Championship club would be ideal for the 17-year-old. Chelsea are already packed with options on the flanks with Eden Hazard, Pedro, and Willian in the ranks, and it is highly difficult for Hudson-Odoi to push them for a place in the team.
