Luis Suarez

Although controversy kept following the player, he continued to score goals and put in performances that eventually lead Barcelona prising him away from Liverpool. His time at Liverpool was certainly a success. In his last year at Anfield, Liverpool came agonisingly close to winning the league and they had their talisman to thank for it.

Phillipe Coutinho

The Brazilian wizard joined Liverpool for as less as £8.5m in 2013 and that looks like a snitch at the moment as he has gone onto establish himself as one of the world’s finest attacking midfielders. He had an impact as soon as he joined the club and endeared to the fans very quickly.
