If the champions of EnglandChelsea were hoping to sign Aymen Abdennour and bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer, their hopes have ended now after La Liga outfit Valencia announced that a deal had been agreed to sign the Monaco defender. Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho was keen on reinforcing his defensive line before the transfer window closes, with it looking highly unlikely that John Stones will be making the move to west London.
However, Valencia have agreed terms regarding a five-year contract with the Tunisian international, who will be moving to Spain.
Abdennour spoke to ‘valenciacf.com’ and expressed his delight on completing the move, as he stated, “I chose Valencia CF out of all the offers I received, because it is a big club in Spain and Europe. I had no doubts. I am happy to be here and to be part of an ambitious and serious project, and I would like to thank the technical staff, Lay Hoon and Peter Lim.”
“I will give my all to have a good season with my new teammates. Everyone knows Valencia CF because they have won a lot of trophies. I am delighted to be joining the best league in the world and hope to play well for the team.”
