Woodburn And Grujic To Start – Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Line-Up To Face Leeds United

Share

After a frustrating draw against Southampton, Liverpool were back to winning ways this weekend as goals from Divock Origi and James Milner gave them all three points from the Anfield leg against Sunderland. They will now turn their attention towards the League Cup quarter-final against Leeds United and will hope to have a comfortable pass into the semi-final of the competition. This competition gives Klopp his first shot of silverware this season and is expected to field a strong lineup for this game on Tuesday.

Here is the predicted lineup that Liverpool might play in this game against Leeds:

Team News:

The Reds are already missing the services of Danny Ings while Adam Lallana (groin), Daniel Sturridge (Calf) Roberto Firmino (Calf) and Philippe Coutinho (ankle) are all ruled out for this game. However, the rest of the squad is expected to be fit for this game.

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet:

The Belgian has just not been able to get back into the first team at the club but he will get his chance this week in the League Cup against Derby.

Trent Alexander Arnold:

The young versatile defender was superb in the last round of the competition for Liverpool and should keep his place in the side for this game.

Lucas Leiva:

The Brazilian has not been used since the last game in this competition and should be back in action for this encounter against Leeds.

Ragnar Klavan:

Having been named the Estonia player of the year for 2016, Klavan, will be full of confidence and should start this quarter final against Leeds United on Tuesday.

Alberto Moreno:

The Spaniard was last used due to an injury to Milner and should be back as the first choice left-back for Klopp in this domestic cup competition.

Kevin Stewart:

The former Tottenham Hotspur man has waited for his place in the starting XI at the club and he should get a chance in this game against Leeds.

Marko Grujic:

Another youngster on the fringes of the first team, Grujic will get some much needed exposure in this League Cup game against Leeds United.

Ovie Ejaria:

Growing on to be an important player for the academy, Ejaria, should start this game in the midfield to help his side to the semi-final of the competition.

Ben Woodburn:

Having made a debut in the Premier League at the weekend, Woodburn will be bought into the starting XI for this quarter final against Leeds.

Sheyi Ojo:

The young winger is back in action and slowly getting to full fitness. He has got 90 minutes under his belt a couple of times this month and should get his chance to start this game against Leeds.

Divock Origi:

Though he is the only striker in the squad that is fit, Origi should start this League Cup game to give his side maximum chances to move into the next round of the competition.
