According to a report in Birmingham Live, Andre Silva is up for sale from AC Milan and Wolves are sniffing about with his signature. The Portuguese international was touted as one of the best up and coming forwards in the world but has struggled a little to show the levels of consistency that is required from a top striker.
He joined Sevilla on loan this season from AC Milan and made quite a big impression at the start of the season but failed to build on it for the rest of the campaign. He ended up scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists but he could definitely do a lot better.
He’s also a Portuguese international and has scored 15 goals for the national side which suggests that there’s still a lot to unearth with Silva and if he can somehow channel that into his club performances, he’d quickly become one of the top talents in the world.
And there aren’t that many managers who’d be better for him to work with than Nuno Espírito Santo, the former FC Porto boss.
The Wolves gaffer as built a strong base of Portuguese talent in Ruben Neves, Joao Mourinho, Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves. Silva would feel at home immediately at the Molineux and there’s a place for him in this team and in the Premier League.
Wolves don’t change to change their first-team that much. They usually play the same 11 but will need to change that approach a little this season because they might end up playing over 50 games this season. They have Europa League qualifiers soon and will end up playing more games if they manage to make it past the qualifiers.
The long journeys are arduous and squad depth will be mandatory. Many strikers tend to find their feet in the Europa League and it could be the same for Silva in helping reignite his career.
Other box finishers like Wissam Ben-Yedder and Luca Jovic showed just how good they can be in the Europa League and the same could be the case for Silva.

Wolves can’t slow down in the Premier League either. The work starts now as their players will not be satisfied with just a 7th place finish.
Their performances against the ‘big-6’ last season are a testament to that. Signing Silva will be a good move for all parties involved.
