Wolves should sign this Croatian goal machine to share the goal-scoring burden with Raul Jimenez – Opinion

Why Wolves should sign Andrej Kramaric in the January window

After making a promising start to their Premier League campaign, Wolves have suffered a set back in the last month or so. At one point, they got decent draws against Manchester City and Manchester United, but as all newly promoted do, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are also enduring a bit of a slump.

When the things are going in the right manner, even the weakened areas doesn’t light up to the viewers. Hence, few cracks get peppered over as a result. We knew Wolves were short in the striker department.

Depending on Raul Jimenez, a loanee from Benfica, to lead the line on a regular basis in the top-flight league was a mistake. Well, that didn’t really show up in the first two months but it has been vividly highlighted in the last month or so.

Hence, it is highly imperative from the club’s viewpoint that they act in the winter transfer window and buy lead man on a permanent deal. Here’s why they should buy Croatia’s Andrej Kramaric from German club Hoffenheim:

Kramaric’s goal-scoring experience key

Andrej Kramaric is a well-known and experience centre-forward who played in the World Cup final in Russia. He may not be the quickest around, but his eye for goal and versatility up there sometimes goes unsung, but it is very important.

Predominantly a centre-forward, the Croat can as a No. 10, on either wing or as a second striker if required. Hence, we can say, he is a total up front to help the team in any way shape or form.

He can hold the ball as forward, linking the play up with the midfield, can cross the ball with grave accuracy, can dribble past defenders in tight situations and possesses a very good right foot from all kinds of set-pieces. Last but not least, he can tuck in goals from all angles.

All in all, the 27-year-old is an ever-utility player who can slot into any team and would be ideal for Wolves since they need clinical thinking in the final third.

It’s true that Kramaric’s previous spell in the Premier League wasn’t successful when he was at Leicester City, however, he has evolved as a player two-fold and playing in a World Cup run up until the last hurdle would boost any player’s confidence.

The Old Gold have to make use of that confidence to their buying by bidding for the forward in the winter window.
