Will Chelsea Win 2014-15 Premier League Season?

Share

One question that’s one everyone’s lips right now is how will Chelsea fare in the 2014-15 Premier League campaign? Well according to pundits they’ll do pretty well with a few tipping Jose Mourinho’s men as the most likely team to finish with the trophy.

After failing to take home some silverware from their games against Crystal Palace, West Ham and Sunderland last season, Mourinho has pulled out all the stops to show Chelsea are taking this season seriously. He’s already had his team on double training sessions and recently, he’s reinforced his squad with some fresh faces.

For example, this year Diego Costa will be the line-leader for Mourinho. If he manages a repeat of his performance that helped guide Atletico Madrid to victory in La Liga then Chelsea might be in with a real chance this season. The Portuguese manager always likes to build his squad to ensure they concede as little goals as possible, which is why he’s also added defender Filipe Luis to this year’s roster.

Replacing Ashley Cole’s left back position; this Brazilian star will help solidify the team’s centre-half and full-back positions alongside Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta to really reinforce the team’s defensive foundations.

The team’s improvements are already pretty apparent as they managed a 2-1 victory over NK Olimpija Ljubljana with an amazing goal by Diego Costa, who certainly made his debut with the club stand out. It was a stark contrast to the infamous Fernando Torres miss from three yards and it definitely is a sign the club has improved for next season.

As if that wasn’t enough, Mourinho has also brought in some new recruits from the Chelsea Football Academy to mix in the experience of the old guard with the talent and energy of younger players like Andreas Christensen and Nathan Ake who have come from the Academy.

These latest additions and remixing of player positions is definitely a different approach to previous tactics by Mourinho.

Speaking on the official Chelsea Football Club website, Mourinho himself said of this decision: “Football is about competitiveness every weekend and that only happens in the Premier League. If we didn’t think we could win the league we wouldn’t be here working so hard.”

He continues: “We respect our opponents because they have the same ambition as us, we want to win the Premier League and we are ready for that.”

Although his squad change ups have certainly reinforced the team by adding more levels of experience, versatility and strength in different aspects of performance, whether this will actually benefit the team in the long run still remains to be seen.

But so far we can definitely say that Chelsea is going to be one to watch during the Premier League.

Having made so many tough and stressful decisions you would think someone might suggest to Mourinho to relax from all this Premier League planning stress by playing a couple of relaxing games of bingo on a bingo website like PGbingo.com for example. After all, there are still odds of winning in the random pot-luck game, but with a far lesser risk or cost than not taking home any silverware to Stamford Bridge this season.
