Why Adam Reach to Wolves won’t be the right move for both parties

According to the Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing a move for Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach.

The Molineux club have been sending scouts to note down the performance level of the 25-year-old. A January move would be lined up if current updates are taken into consideration.

The Englishman has been in good form this season, and his phenomenal goals against Leeds United and West Brom caught the eyes of many. Everything is in place for Wolves to bid for the player when the transfer window reopens. (Sun)

However, here’s why Reach leaving Sheffield Wednesday and moving to the Molineux won’t make sense for both parties:

A move not ideal right now

Wolves have made a decent start to the season in the Premier League. They find themselves ninth in the table with 15 points from nine games. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men look settled in the league, which is a testament to their style of play.

The Portuguese manager hasn’t even made a single change to his line-up in the opening nine games. It just goes onto to show he has faith in his men to do the job every time they step onto the field.

Furthermore, the Old Gold possess a strong squad that can help the team whenever needed. They have two quality players for every position, a sign of a team settled and comfortable in England’s top-flight league.

Hence, buying a winger in Adam Reach won’t really make much sense, especially in the winter window. The player himself is in good form for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. Hence, changing clubs mid-season wouldn’t be a good idea for the 25-year-old.

Reach likes to operate on the right wing, or as a No.10. Wolves have Helder Costa and Adama Traore fighting for the spot on the right-hand side of the attack, and the 3-4-3 system they play doesn’t require an out-and-out No.10.

It really won’t be an intelligent move for both parties if Reach joins Wolves in January. If the club is interested in the player, the ideal covenant would be to let the player play full season at the Hillsborough stadium and buy him in the summer. By then, Nuno will have an idea of how many players can stay with him beyond this season.
