Why Tottenham Hotspur should make a move for Ryan Sessegnon

Tottenham Hotspur continued their fine return to form under Mauricio Pochettino after picking up a 1-0 win against West Ham United this weekend. Spurs have come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks after failing to add to their squad in the summer.

Pochettino should definitely dive into the market when the transfer window reopens in January. The Lilywhites are certainly going to need more men as they aim to pick up their first piece of silverware under the Argentinian manager.

According to BBC, Fulham are set to offer left-back Ryan Sessegnon a new contract at the end of the summer. The youngster is one of Slavisa Jokanovic’s prized assets in the squad and has just 18 months left on his current contract.

Given that the Cottagers are currently in dreadful form and are one of the early favourites to face the drop at the end of the season, Pochettino can use this opportunity to lure the youngster to Tottenham.

Ryan Sessegnon

The 18-year-old is currently one of the hottest prospects in English football and there’s no doubt he’ll soon make his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

He is extremely pacy, can dribble and also supply crosses into the box. The youngster is also capable of playing a number of positions. Though considered a left-back, Sessegnon has also often played as a left winger for Fulham this season.

It’s his ability on the ball that allows him to do so. The teenager is extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet and his directness often leads others into thinking he is a born winger.
