William Carvalho Would Be An Instant Hit At West Ham United And Here’s Why

West Ham United are in some deep trouble at the moment with the East London club sliding down into the relegation zone after their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool last week at the London stadium.

The defeat to the Reds cost the Hammers dearly as the club’s board chose to sack Slaven Bilic from his position as head coach. The Croatian manager had only managed 2 wins in 11 games this season and was under immense pressure going into the game against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Hammers could not handle the scintillating pace of Liverpool, who looked rampant on that night. Mohamed Salah along with Sadio Mane ran riot at the London stadium as the Hammers’ defence faltered.

The East London club are in clear need of reinforcements and particularly a defensive midfielder to bring balance to the team. Sporting Lisbon midfielder and Portugal international William Carvalho could be just the right man to help West Ham keep their midfield intact.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder has been a regular part of Sporting’s first team over the years and has brought solidity to the midfield. The £22.5m rated man has already shown his class, having won the Euro 2016 with Portugal last year.

West Ham currently only have Cheikhou Kouyaté as their defensive midfield option and could use a player like Carvalho to strengthen their midfield. Reports also indicate that the Portuguese international is desperate to leave Sporting in January after nearly signing for the Hammers in the summer.

Everton FC were reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old too, but with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye in their ranks, they dropped their interest. West Ham have every reason to go after the Portuguese midfielder, especially with the dire situation the club now find themselves in.

The departure of Slaven Bilic is bound to be a big setback for the Hammers. West Ham need to understand that there is a lot more to success than just hiring a new manager. The Hammers need some top class players to bring the confidence back within the team and amongst the fans.

The only way the Hammers can make a comeback from their current doom is to strengthen their side with talented individuals like William Cravalho. You never know, the 25-year-old could turn out to be the next Javier Mascherano.
