Why Real Madrid’s 25-year-old star must ignore West Ham despite their willingness to splash €90m

Why Isco Must Avoid West Ham United Interest And Stay Put At Real Madrid

According to Don Balon, West Ham United have decided to splash €90million to sign Isco from Real Madrid in the summer. Frankly, this is the most bizarre rumour I have come across this season.

The Spaniard is one of the most exciting players in Europe at the moment but is finding it hard to cement a place in the first-team at the Santiago Bernabeu. There is no doubt that he is a world-class talent but has faded in the second-half of the season.

In the first half of the campaign, Isco was a delight to watch. Dancing past the defenders and bamboozling players with ease, the playmaker romanced with the ball at his feet. The defenders had to use different tricks and techniques to get him off the ball but to no avail, as Isco gave a supreme glimpse of his quality.

Real fans laud Cristiano Ronaldo for all the types of goals he scores but very few acknowledge the genius of Isco in the middle of the park. He is actually the player that makes Madrid tick in the attack and without him, the Spanish giants often look like a toothless team, devoid of any creativity and spark.

Isco’s presence not only improves the forwards but also the midfielders working behind him. There is a degree of awe about Isco’s play that makes it almost impossible not to notice him on the pitch. He slips past challenges and can create chances from nothing.

However, that was all about the 25-year-old’s eye-catching displays in the first half of the season in Real colours. Since the start of 2018, it appears as if the Spain international is lacking confidence.

The way he twisted and turned with so much ease and poise last year is not on the show anymore. The manner with which Isco effortlessly linked the midfield to the forwards has simply gone missing.

Without him, Real have found it difficult to break teams that sit deep and defend. It just goes on to show the stamp he leaves on the games. After being one of the first names on the team sheet for most of the first-half, Isco has found himself on the fringes lately.

As far as I am concerned, there is high optimism that Isco will work his way back into the team and start haunting defenders again. He should just stay focused and stick with the biggest club in Europe after the end of the season.

Clearly, a move to West Ham doesn’t make any sense for Isco. There is a wide gulf between both Real and West Ham — at one end is the club lifting Champions League and on the other, a club fighting relegation in the Premier League.

London has proven to be a striking home for many of the world’s best footballers in recent years but Isco must just stay put at Real amidst interest from West Ham.
